Before and after

From a cluttered recipe page to clear steps

Somewhere in here is dinner.

A life story, three ads and a wall of text.

My Cookbase keeps the cooking.

Give it a recipe and everything else falls away.

Each ingredient, right where you need it.

Listed under the step that uses it, so you never scroll back up mid-stir.

Import

Bring recipes in from anywhere.

Paste a recipe link, or the recipe itself, into Add a Recipe. Links from TikTok, Instagram and YouTube work too, and Import a video writes the recipe from a cooking video.

Add a Recipe with a recipe link pasted in, ready to tap Get Cooking.

A page from a cookbook.

Take a photo of the page and say which book it’s from. My Cookbase reads it and credits the book.

From a Cookbook: a photo of a printed recipe page, with the cookbook name and author filled in.

Or straight from Safari.

On any recipe page, tap Share and choose My Cookbase. The recipe is waiting when the app opens.

Safari on a recipe page with the share sheet open and My Cookbase in the row of apps.

Ready in seconds.

Every import becomes clear, numbered steps, and saves itself to your recipes. Tick off each step as you go.

Decoder

See how it all comes together.

Decoder draws a recipe as a diagram. Ingredients sit on the left, and each step reaches across the ones it uses.

When parts are made side by side, like a ragù and a béchamel, you see both, and the moment they meet.

  • Ragù
  • Béchamel
  • Where they meet
Lasagna in Decoder A diagram of a lasagna. The ragù chain softens onion, browns beef and simmers for an hour. The béchamel chain makes a roux, whisks in milk and adds nutmeg. Both chains meet when the lasagna is layered, then it is topped with mozzarella and baked for 40 minutes. Ragù Béchamel 2 Tbs olive oil 1 onion, diced 3 cloves garlic 1 lb beef mince 28 oz tomatoes 4 Tbs butter ¼ cup flour 3 cups milk pinch of nutmeg 12 lasagna sheets 2 cups mozzarella soften onion make roux brown beef whisk in milk simmer 1 hr add nutmeg layer it all up top & bake 40 min

Shop

A shopping list that knows the store.

Make a list from one recipe or a whole week of them. The same ingredient is merged into one line, and everything is sorted by aisle.

Share it to Notes, Reminders or Messages.

Cook

Made for the moment you’re cooking.

When a step names a time, tap it to start a timer. It counts down on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, so you can leave the app.

The timer as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen: Timer, Chop Suey, Chicken Stir Fry.

Cook for two, or for twelve.

Change the servings and every amount follows. Switch to metric, or cups to grams, in one tap. The screen stays awake while you cook.

Cinnamon rolls scaled to 8 servings, with Metric units and Convert cups to weight both switched on, so the flour reads 180 g.

Keep

A cookbook that’s all yours.

Everything you import is saved for you. Rate it in forks, jot a note, and find it again by name, ingredient or cookbook.

My Recipes: seven recipes with photos, sources and fork ratings, under a search field.

Sorted your way.

Make collections of your own, like Sunday dinners. Others fill themselves: by cooking tool, from wok to stand mixer, or by rating.

Collections: Blender, Stand Mixer, Wok and Sheet Pan, which fill themselves, and Sunday dinners with three recipes.

On every device, day or night.

Your recipes sync through iCloud to your iPhone and iPad, and the app follows your light or dark setting.

And a few more things.

  • Allergen flags

List what you avoid. Any ingredient that matches is flagged in the recipe, and your list never leaves your phone.

  • Print it

Print a recipe with its Decoder diagram and a full ingredient list, sorted by aisle.

  • My Feats

Small milestones, like your first collection. Each one drops a leaf on your home screen.

  • Shopping essentials

Keep a standing list of the things you buy every time, and add it to any list with one tap.
